Tity Boi, also known as Playaz Circle consists of 2 Chainz and his longtime pal Dolla Boy. At Montgomery, Alabama’s Alabama State University, 2 Chainz was a basketball player. Playaz Circle, an Atlanta Southside native, formed as a compilation in the late 1990s. Following the publication of their debut album, they were introduced to DJ Chris Lova Lova, also known as Ludacris, over the radio by their mutual friend Lil’ Fate. Sadly. Soon later, Dolla was imprisoned and 2 Chainz was shot. Ludacris contacted them after learning of their plight and offered to sign them. When Dolla Boy was launched, 2 Chainz joined DTP as a signee and the label came into existence.

Despite his numerous denials, Epps faced rumors throughout his career that the moniker Tity Boi was intended to be disparaging against women. In early 2011, he chose to change his stage name to 2 Chainz because he felt it was more “family friendly.”
