Pusha T, born Terrence Thornton on May 14, 1977, in the Bronx, New York, is a prominent figure in hip-hop. He gained recognition as one half of the acclaimed duo Clipse, formed in 1992 in Virginia Beach.

Pusha T co-founded Re-Up Records with his brother Gene “No Malice” Thornton, the other member of Clipse.

In September 2010, Pusha T signed with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label, subsequently appearing on several label projects, including “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” and G.O.O.D. Fridays tracks. He released his first solo mixtape, “Fear of God,” on March 21, 2011.

Pusha T’s solo career continued to evolve with his EP “Fear of God II: Let Us Pray” and work on his debut solo album, featuring production from The Neptunes, Kanye West, Bangladesh, Ryan Leslie, and Alex da Kid. He has expressed intentions to release another Clipse album with his brother after completing his solo projects and the Re-Up Gang mixtape “Long Live the Cane.”

On July 8, 2011, Pusha T released “Trouble on My Mind,” featuring Tyler, the Creator, as the first single from “Fear of God II.” The accompanying music video was released on July 20.

In addition to his music career, Pusha T ventured into acting, with a role as a drug dealer in four episodes of the second season of HBO’s “How to Make It in America.”
