Her songs, which center on the harsh realities of street life, are bold, confrontational, and dramatic, yet she can also be funny and reflective. She has worked with rappers like T.I., Trina, and Kash Doll since making her debut in 2016. Cancel Culture, her third album, was released in 2021.Tokyo Jetz, real name Shauntrell Pender, started rapping in high school after being a poet first. Eventually, a number of well-known rappers took notice of her freestyles and mixtape performances, including T.I., who signed her to Grand Hustle in 2016. Early in 2017, Jetz relocated to Atlanta and embarked on a US tour alongside her labelmates. After releasing the cheerful summertime hit "Sunshine Baby" and the introspective "My Story," she made her label debut with Viral in August 2017. 2018 saw the release of her sophomore full-length album, Bonafide, which featured the single "The One." It was preceded by the EP 90's Baby. The album had guest appearances from T.I., Trey Songz, Trina, and other artists. Throughout 2019, a number of singles were released, such as "Amir" and "Six Flags" (with Plies). Jetz caused a stir when she uploaded a video of herself play fighting with a friend and mockingly made fun of George Floyd's passing following the release of her 2020 EP Stimulus Package. She released her full-length Cancel Culture in 2021 in response to the criticism.
