He is one half of the duo Big Tymers and a co-founder of Cash Money Records. In addition to his albums for his solo career and with Big Tymers, Birdman also released multiple singles with Lil Wayne and a collaborative album.

Uptown New Orleans is where Birdman was born and reared. In 1991, Birdman and his brother Ronald “Slim” Williams established Cash Money Records. He released his sole independent album, I Need a Bag of Dope, in 1993 under the alias B-32 (Baby with the 32 Golds).

He and rapper Mannie Fresh formed the group Big Tymers in 1997. After making their debut with the album How Ya Luv That? in 1998, Big Tymers released Hood Rich in 2002 and I Got That Work in 2000. “Get Your Roll On” and “#1 Stunna” were major songs for I Got That Work, while “Still Fly” and “Oh Yeah!” were hits for Hood Rich, who received a Grammy nomination. In 2003, Big Money Heavyweight came next, and the group broke up in 2004.

Birdman’s self-titled debut studio album, which included the hits “Do That” and “What Happened to That Boy” (with Clipse), was released in 2002. Birdman appeared as a guest on three singles after that album: “Let’s Get Down” by Bow Wow, “Hell Yeah” by Ginuwine, and “Bounce Back” by Juvenile.

Birdman’s third studio album, Fast Money, was released in 2005. From this album, the hits “Get Your Shine On” and “Neck of the Woods” featuring Lil Wayne were born. Birdman produced and performed on tunes from Tha Carter and Tha Carter II for Lil Wayne.

Like Father, Like Son is the album that Birdman and Lil’ Wayne released. “Stuntin’ Like My Daddy” and “Leather So Soft” were two of the three singles that came off of it, and it was certified gold. He was also a part of the remixes of two of the biggest rap hits, “Make It Rain” by Fat Joe and “We Fly High” by Jim Jones. Birdman’s fourth studio album, 5 * Stunna, was released in 2007. Both the first song, “Pop Bottles,” with Lil Wayne and Jadakiss, and the second, “100 Million,” with Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Dre, and DJ Khaled, were hits. “I Run This,” the third single with Lil Wayne, was also a hit.

First released as “Always Strapped” featuring Lil Wayne on his fifth album Pricele$$, Birdman’s second single was “Written on Her” starring British singer Jay Sean. Lil Wayne’s song “Southside” is the third single. Drake and Lil Wayne’s song “Money to Blow” is the fourth single. The sixth single is “4 My Town (Play Ball)” with Drake and Lil Wayne. Additionally, in December 2009, “Written on Her” became Birdman’s debut release in the UK.

He originally intended to release “Priceless 2,” a follow-up to his 2010 album, but ultimately decided to make “Bigger Than Life.” “Loyalty” was the first promotional single, featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga. Drake, Young Jeezy, Bun B, and Rick Ross will all collaborate further. The record will be released in the first quarter of 2011. He unveiled the music video for “My Jewel,” a potential future single featuring Bun B and Young Jeezy. On November 22, 2010, he dropped “Fire Flame,” his debut official single featuring Lil Wayne.

Birdman is thought to be worth more than $400 million. A significant portion of that money has come from sales within Cash Money Records as well as from various business agreements with Universal Music Group. With his whole wealth, he is the second-richest rapper in history, only to Jay-Z.
