GloRilla, a rapper from Tennessee, creates anthems that unabashedly and intensely exalt female independence. Her hit song “FNF (Let’s Go)” from 2022, which Hitkidd produced, went viral and received over eight million plays on streaming services and around 25 million views on its accompanying video. Yo Gotti, the boss of the CMG label, signed GloRilla after she became an overnight sensation. She went on to release hits including “Tomorrow” from the label showcase compilation Gangsta Art. Eventually, Life’s Great…, her debut EP, was released later in 2022. The mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang was released in 2024, and several tracks, including “On Wat U On” (with Moneybagg Yo) and “Lick or Sum,” debuted in 2023.

GloRilla grew up in the North Memphis community of Frayser. Having grown up singing in the church choir, she spent her adolescent years rapping and listening to Chief Keef. Her cousin inspired her to pursue her music more seriously and enter the recording studio. Early hits like “You Ain’t Shit” from 2020 and “Westside Baby” from 2021 are the outcome of this. Her 2022 partnership with Hitkidd was what made a significant impact. GloRilla and Hitkidd went into the studio shortly after to record “FNF (Let’s Go),” an attitude-filled song of independence with catchy melodies that would make any party go wild. Both the song and the music video were finished in a single day, and GloRilla’s charm made it become viral very quickly. Yo Gotti, the leader of CMG, heard about her accomplishment and quickly signed her to his label.

GloRilla made appearances on the CMG showcase release Gangsta Art and a remix of “Just Say That” featuring Quavo and Duke Deuce as 2022 went on. November saw the release of her EP Anyway, Life’s Great…, which featured the songs “FNF (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B. On the Billboard 200 chart, the release peaked at position 11. GloRilla’s 2023 debut featured the Moneybagg Yo song “On Wat U On.” After that came “Internet Trolls” (with Hitkidd) and a deluxe version of Anyway, Life’s Great… featuring “Ex’s” with Lil Durk. In May, “Lick or Sum” was made available. Additionally, GloRilla worked with Aleza, Slimeroni, Gloss Up, K Carbon, and Tay Keith on the song “Wrong One.” On GloRilla’s 2024 mixtape Ehhthang Ehhthang, the Top 40 hits “Yeah Glo!” and the Megan Thee Stallion collaboration “Wanna Be” were featured.
