Jacksonville, Florida, is where Roy Bonner, better known as Balize, was born. Rapper and songwriter Balize gained notoriety as the music industry’s best-kept secret.
Since he was a little child, Balize has been around music. Balize’s cousin introduced him to Biggie Smalls and NWA, which had a big impact on his love of music. At the age of 14, Balize started creating songs and recording them for his high school years. Artists such as Andre’ 3000, Jay-z, Scarface, Young Jeezy, Kanye West, and numerous more have influenced Balize. Balize says of his debut song, “Believe it or not, my first song was about becoming a successful rapper. When “Extraterrestrial” by Outkast dropped, I thought, “Man, I should have pushed myself harder.” Balize’s commitment to his music has only gotten stronger since then. He has been winning people over with hits like “Hello Goodbye,” “In My Pants,” and “Push” since he teamed up with producer Ron Browz. Mix tapes named The Block Warming, Let the Bidding War Begin, and most recently The Red Pill have all been published by Balize.
Balize is receiving a lot of positive feedback from his supporters in his home area in northern Florida. He is actually a local celebrity, possibly the largest rap star in the area. Balize has played in numerous events and locations across the continental United States, including the Apollo for the Justo Music Awards, while having spent the majority of his career in the South. Balize’s skill has most recently drawn the attention of people like Brian Michael Cox, Gregg Street, and Tony Draper from Suave House 2. Balize actually made headlines recently when he supported rap mogul Rick Ross on stage.
Balize’s outstanding music and flair have led to features in Hip Hop Weekly, Duval Streets Magazine, Six Twelve Magazine, and honorable mentions in XXL and Source magazines. Additionally, Balize’s music can be found on satellite radio and online at places like hiphopstreets.com, musicchoice.com, GreenHits.com, tjdjs.com, hiphopgame.com, and iTunes.com/downloads.
Balize collaborates closely with producers like Hollywood J and Johnny Juliano to create his music. Apart from producing his own music, Balize has a remarkable background in business. He founded MPM Vision and serves as Vice President for Production Lounge Inc. Additionally, Balize has affiliations with Brick Management Group and Shoes of Mayham.
For Balize, everything comes second to his passion for music. When he’s not rapping, he’s producing his next single or composing and brainstorming ideas. What does Balize do next? According to Balize, “I feel like I’ve been in the background long enough trying to perfect my craft, and it’s time to let the world know what God gave me.” With his new mixtape “Flash Gordon,” which is being developed under producer D Rich of Shawty Redd’s Beat Bangers and will soon be accessible everywhere, Balize intends to increase the amount of shows he conducts and take over the streets. Balize’s ringtone agreement with Vio Mobile has made his music available on everyone’s smartphone.
Balize’s overall goal is to provide his audience with a musical experience that is as rich and emotional as a movie, rather than merely music. The best is still to come for Balize, so keep an eye and ear out since MPM vision is constantly evolving.
