Trick Daddy – I’m A Thug

Maurice Young (born 27 September 1973), better known by his stage name Trick Daddy, is an American rapper and actor from Miami, Florida. Trick Daddy debuted in 1996 under the stage name Trick Daddy Dollars on Luke‘s 1996 album Uncle Luke, which earned him a deal with local, newly-based label Slip-n-Slide Records. His debut album, Based on a True Story, was released in 1997 and was popular in Miami.

In 1998, Trick Daddy removed “Dollars” from his stage name and released the album www.thug.com. Its single “Nann Nigga” featuring Trina became a national hit, peaking at #3 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. Atlantic Records signed Trick Daddy in 2000, and he released his album on the label Book of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47 that same year. He released the albums Thugs Are Us in 2001 and Thug Holiday and 2002. His 2004 album, Thug Matrimony: Married to the Streets, was released with the single “Let’s Go” featuring Twista and Lil Jon, which became a top ten hit and is Trick Daddy’s most successful single of his career. His 2006 album, Back by Thug Demand, was his final album for Slip-n-Slide and Atlantic, as he left the labels that same year.

His latest studio album, Finally Famous: Born a Thug, Still a Thug, was released independently in 2009. That same year, he appeared in the television film Just Another Day.
