His acting career began in 2001 with a minor role as a pizza parlor kid in the film “Max Keeble’s Big Move.” Hopson’s television experience includes a guest appearance on the popular Disney Channel show “That’s So Raven.” His most notable acting role was portraying a senior rapper in the musical adaptation of “Fame.” He also took on the lead role of “Face” in the independent film “Bomb The World.”

Transitioning to music, Hopson adopted the stage name “Hopsin” and established himself as a rapper. He founded the record label Funk Volume, through which he released several albums. As of 2017, Hopsin had released five studio albums. In early 2016, he parted ways with Funk Volume and subsequently launched a new record label called Undercover Prodigy, continuing his career as an independent artist.
